Vans Warped Tour, a national alternative-music festival that first launched in 1995, will end in 2018.

Kevin Lyman, founder of alternative music festival Vans Warped Tour, announced on Nov. 15 that the 2018 installment of the long-running national event will be its last.

“I have been a very lucky person to have traveled across the country and sometimes around the world as one of the founders and producers of the Vans Warped Tour,” Lyman wrote in a press release on the tour’s website. “Today, with many mixed feelings, I am here to announce that next year will be the final, full cross-country run of the Vans Warped Tour.”

While the tour itself will not continue into 2019, the release does promise a special celebration for the event’s 25th anniversary, and it does not rule out shorter tour runs or one-off events. The release also revealed the schedule for next year’s festival, which features 37 stops across the U.S. from June 21, 2018, through Aug. 5, 2018.

Since Warped Tour first launched in 1995, it has been a launchpad for artists from a variety of genres to reach mainstream audiences, with past success stories including No Doubt, Every Time I Die, Sum 41, Paramore, The Used, Taking Back Sunday, Fall Out Boy and Avenged Sevenfold.

  1. I can’t deny the energy and the happiness that I felt when I am at a concert and a band playing my favorite songs. As I hear it live, in front of the band, squished like sardines, sweating bullets, pulse beating, and belting out the lyrics at the top of my lungs while crowd surfers pass over my head are feelings that make my heart soar. Compared to all of the concerts I have been to, the Vans Warped Tour is by far my favorite. I can go to Warped Tour and be with people who are just like me. People who share my passion for music. People who, like me, believe in Warped Tour.
