The Mississippi Museum of Art announced today, Sept. 21, that in October, both The Museum Store and The Palette Cafe will go under renovations.
Beginning Oct. 2, the store will only be open to the public for special sales events until the museum’s open house on Tuesday, Nov. 28.
Also starting Oct. 2, The Palette Cafe will not be open for lunch daily; however, museum guests can preview Executive Chef Nick Wallace’s new menu, “PRESERVE,” on Oct. 19 during ‘sipp Sourced at MMA’s Museum After Hours event. The cafe will reopen on Nov. 28 during the open house.
Exhibit Updates
Beginning Tuesday, Sept. 26, “Mary Asleep” will be at the museum for two weeks. For the months of October and November, the Mississippi Museum of Art will also have “Highlights of the Collection,” in which the museum will display works of art from its collection. Oct. 3-15 is “Old Maple, Lake George” by Georgia O’Keeffe; Oct. 17-29 is “Nocturne” by James Whistler; Oct. 31-Nov. 9 is “Onion Soup Can” by Andy Warhol; and November 10-26 is “Etchings” by Rembrandt.
